The Dominican Republic has got to be one big party right now. The Colmados were certainly overflowing with Dominicans sitting at platic tables drinking some grandes. Pedro Martinez is a national hero down there. Although Manny grew up in washington heights, he is still "one of them" as most Dominicans have a relative or friend living in washington heights. . . . .and David Ortiz. . . . .Big Papi.

I can hear the people in the Dominican Republic screaming at the TVs in the local colmados or bars. If the Red Sox win the World Series, there will be wild parties in the Dominican Republic. After the ALCS 6 people were injured by stray bullets from people celebrating in the streets. If the World Series ends in 4 games, there is a good possibility that Manny Ramirez will be World Series MVP.

It looks like each team in the world series will have 3 Dominican Players. Also the ALCS MVP David Ortiz and the NLCS MVP Albert Pujols are both Dominican. During the winter I went to a few Dominican Winter League baseball games and I brought my video camera to one game. I did some work on one of our websites. I was able to DL most of the site from FTP and make some necessary changes. I need to contact my hosting company to get log in and passwords for the other sites as well. OK, so I have sort of impulsively decided to do a Blog. Heck until the Iraqi invasion I wasn't even really aware what a blog was! I have been living in Santo Domingo for a little over a year. The experience has definitely been "interesting". I am living like a "local", meaning I am not in some ritzy apartment building, living large, but rather living in a small apartment in an "OK" part of town.
